Pause the Algorithm. Touch Grass.

Pause your scrolling. Take a deep breath.

Think about all the algorithms that brought you here. When you woke up this morning, you likely grabbed your phone (I did!) and scrolled through Instagram, Facebook, X, or TikTok.

That’s an algorithm literally learning you. Just think—you, mindlessly scrolling, being mentally bottle-fed by AI.

On your way to work, you probably listened to music. Another algorithm feeding “Distracted You” exactly what it knows you’ll like.

Stop by a coffee shop. That $8 syrup-infused latte? Yep, an algorithm told you it’s worth it—even though you could brew your own coffee for a dollar or two.

At work, on break, or at night, more algorithms influence what you see, what you buy, and even how you think. You vent to ChatGPT, watch a movie, scroll social media… each experience curated, designed to keep your attention.

Just breathe.

Twice...

Life is too short to live according to someone else’s plan.

Pause the algorithm.

Go for a walk. Hang out with a friend. Swim. Pet your cat. Touch grass. Call your lonely grandma. Play cards with your family. Feel the sun on your face.

Then... only then, realize this:

You are in control of your OWN life. Your time is yours.

Technology is wonderful, but remember:

We use technology. Technology doesn’t use us.
